User talk:Hyacinth/Words to use
Look, is this necessary? Most of this is duplicating Wikipedia:Words to avoid. We all know how people hate prescription of anything and love how Wikipedia gives proportionate time to all POVs, but this just sounds like a weak attempt at saying "but it doesn't mean those words should never be used..." Well, no. This is what the main article says, after all. It doesn't say "never". If you have good rebuttals, do put them there. What's the point in spinning off this? You just wasted a few minutes of my life reading it and compelling me to write this, and I sincerely doubt it benefits anyone.
Seriously, what words will feature here? "Influential"? That's a good word, spices up any article. "Notable"? Absolutely, let's make it clear why there's an article in the first place! "Fictional", don't forget it if your topic happens to warrant it!
Actually, that last one's not so bad, but it's already covered in a more obvious place: check your fiction. "Words to use" is bogus. I don't think this has a lease on life. Delete it. 82.92.119.11 23:09, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- So list it for deletion. Smoddy (t) (e) 23:12, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- An anon going to VfD? No, thanks. I prefer deferring deletion requests to "people in good standing". I should probably refrain from making this sort of comment at all, to avoid the obvious sofixit response. Going back to editing now. :-) 82.92.119.11 00:00, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I have a better solution: as the text was basically lifted from Wikipedia:Words to avoid, I have made the page a redirect there. Smoddy (t) (e) 17:57, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)
