From us in the U.S.
[edit]I realize that "US" is used in much of the world, but here it's still "U.S." Please stop "correcting" it, with regard to U.S. topics, at least. Rlquall 02:04, 23 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Get with the times man, it's US. - Metric
- From Wikipedia's Manual of Style: When abbreviating United States, please use "U.S."; that is the more common style in that country, is easier to search for automatically, and we want one uniform style on this. When referring to the United States in a long abbreviation (USA, USN, USAF), periods should not be used.--216.165.33.63 22:23, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
Personally, I think it's better to use "America" or "American." "U.S." just doesn't look right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.88.213.74 (talk) 18:20, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
What the hell?
[edit]There is a link to American Renaissance (the white nationalist magazine) in this article. Is that completely necessary? --68.230.200.192 02:00, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Removied --68.230.200.192 02:00, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
A statement like the "conspiracy theory" in this article needs to be sourced, and whatever you think of its viewpoints, American Renaissance is held to be fairly academic. Besides, the linked article was a book review. I won't put it back, personally, because I think the statement is irrelevant and should be deleted, but it's open to debate, certainly... Dude. How you guys could have an article on Church's Chicken without even mentioning those honeybutter biscuits of theirs is blasphemy. Someone at least mention them. You talk about the fries and peppers, for pity's sake, include those things too.
Church's in BC
[edit]There was a statement that there are Church's in BC, "according to the company's website". Since there's a Church's within a 20 minute walk from my house (which is in BC), I feel that it's unnecessary to suggest that our knowledge of these franchaises is limited only to an online query. Extra Notes
[edit]I removed the following two bullet points from the bottom of the page, where they were in a section labeled "Extra Notes". They seem sketchy and irrelevant to me, but I moved them here in case others thought they were useful:
- Church's Chicken is a popular eatery in Urban Areas (St. Louis, Chicago, ...)
- It mentions Church's/Popeye's as 2nd Largest, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is first

Cultural referencess
[edit]I added the cultural reference about the Ghost World movie. For some reason, it was about Cooks chicken, but in my mind I was thinking Church's chicken. Somebody corrected it for me, but it doesn't really seem to have any kind of meaning anymore. I think i'm going to delete it. --Адам12901 Talk 04:38, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:ChurchChickenlogo.gif
[edit]Image:ChurchChickenlogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:41, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Is the HQ really in SA?
[edit]I thought they moved to Atlanta
Church's and Urban Legends section
[edit]Is it just me or does this section seem like Complete Bollocks. For one there no source citing them if its even verifiable at all, two it doesn't seem neutral at all, and three how does this in the heck support the article. Sawblade05 (talk to me | my wiki life) 08:58, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- I removed it, if somebody wants it in the article please discuss why.--JMay from tampa bay 01:47, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Hell what's there to discuss because it looks like only morons edit Wikipedia. I mean here is a link to a journal, yes a published paper, entitled Church's Fried Chicken and The Klan: A Rhetorical Analysis of Rumor in the Black Community that analyzes the urban myth, hence: "Church's Fried Chicken Corporation is owned by the Ku Klux Klan, and that the white supremacist organization is contaminating the food to poison black males[...]
- So mull over this paper from 1987 and think why are these details not in this article? Simple Answer? Because how on earth anyone can think rewriting copyrighted material is building an online version of the Library of Alexandria or garners respect from society!! When most are unable to do engage in even the most basic critical thinking processes! 21:48, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

G. W. Jr.'s Hot Dogs
[edit]Can some research and information be added to this direction of the company? There was an attempt to expand these restaurants shortly before the acquisition by Al Copland and Popeye's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.30.64.33 (talk) 04:30, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Third largest?
[edit]OK, so I just edited the page to make Church's fourth-largest, as Chick-fil-A has more locations than Church's and also beats out KFC and Popeyes in revenue. Anyone else have any research on this? Jgera5 (talk) 21:40, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
Co founder/partner
[edit]Any reason David Bamberger isn't mentioned in the article? He is often credited as a cofounder/partner.[1][2] MartinezMD (talk) 04:01, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
