Reuleaux polygon

[edit]

FYI: I rolled back your change to Reuleaux triangle - "Reuleaux polygon" already had an internal link earlier in the article, and you had linked the plural form. - DavidWBrooks 17:07, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Whoops. Missed that. Theanthrope 03:27, Oct 18, 2004 (UTC)

Hi Theanthrope, I think from the history file this statement is yours:- "The traditionally large Italian family has been largely replaced by a preference by parents for a single child who is, by Anglo-American standards, lavishly indulged." Could you provide your references for this. Thanks Giano 07:26, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Hi! I've gotten the impression that you're interested in articles related to comics and sequential art. I've just created a project called WikiProject on Comics in order to establish consensus on the organization and content of such articles, and I hope you'll join in. See the main project page and please leave comments on the Talk page. Thanks! -leigh (φθόγγος) 22:36, Dec 5, 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

A tag has been placed on Throw Me The Statue, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template hangon to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Tmts band 02.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Tmts band 02.jpg is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Tmts band 02.jpg, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Speedy deletion of Throw Me The Statue

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Throw Me The Statue requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Regarding the request for Speedy Delete

[edit]

Hi, Theanthrope. The big problem is notability--this is not a personal dig at you, or at the band. Wikipedia has had to develop some pretty strict guidelines on what is notable and what isn't. Justin Eiler (talk) 06:35, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I posted on the talk page of the article. Just giving you a heads-up here. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 06:38, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine. I'm just wondering how notability is determined. There are other sources that can be cited. how many do we need?
Theanthrope (talk) 06:38, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
PS: One of the administrators said the article does qualify as notable. That's cool, too--this doesn't mean it may not get challenged again, but having an administrator decline a speedy delete request is a good start. :D Justin Eiler (talk) 06:40, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File:TMTS band.jpg missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

Better source request for File:File:TMTS band.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:22, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
