Institut für Sexualwissenschaft

[edit]

Excellent work on this article, well done. I have edited it to phase out obsolete words (homophile), to include categories and to link to the essays. Keep up the good work. --Oldak Quill 21:42, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Your FINE work on Guy Davenport Page!

[edit]

I'm sorry to read that you've suspended work on the Guy Davenport page, which owes a significant portion of its interest to your fine work back in January. You are clearly very familiar with Davenport's career, behavior, and opinions, mentioning matters that only someone close to Guy could know. Could you give us a clue to the nature of your knowledge? I'd welcome an email exchange (if I could figure out how we initiate one at Wikipedia, to which I am a newcomer).

In any case -- THANK YOU! The Guy Davenport entry has become Wikipedia at its best, despite (and maybe even to some extent because of) the various battles waged back in the spring and summer by well-intentioned Davenport Readers who disputed some of your work. List of photographers

[edit]

Hi, I hope you don't mind, but I'm reverting the change you made (a year ago!) to the subheading of List of photographers because it seems too restrictive and is not an accurate description of the contents of the list (i.e. there are many photographers listed who do not (easily) fit into the genres "art, documentary and fashion". Why not leave the subheading general so as not to restrict the use of the list, nor lead to debates over whether the inclusion of someone is unjustified because they are/are not one kind of photographer or another? Makes sense? Thanks. Pinkville 19:45, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Crownsceptre.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Yasuhiro Ishimoto

[edit]

Hello. Thank you for kicking off Yasuhiro Ishimoto, but there's something in it that I find puzzling. Take a look at my question in its talk page when you have the time. Thanks. -- Hoary 03:05, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tottenham Green

[edit]

The following (posted on Talk:Tottenham Green) isn't a dig at you, but the article as it stands makes some very odd claims, with no citations whatsoever - from personal experience with the emergency services, I can assure you that the area definitely does not have "a significant and entrenched problem with arson", for example.

This page makes a number of very dubious uncited claims - I've not (yet) AfD'd the article as it is on a genuine albeit not noteworthy area but the whole thing is very iffy. I've deleted some of the more ludicrous irrelevancies (Broadwater Farm may indeed be in Tottenham - it is certainly not in Tottenham Green) and incoherences (eg "50% of the population have an ethnic origin" - what do the other 50% have?), but since almost every line currently contains a controversial uncited claim, I will return to this page and AfD it or redirect to Tottenham if not improved in a month or so. List of films featuring May-December romances

[edit]

Hi Fontgirl! Great list. I was just wondering if you'd care if I changed the order in which the contents are listed, to:

1 Older Woman/ Younger Man 2 Older Man/ Younger Woman 3 Older Woman/ Younger Woman 4 Older Man/ Younger Man

(I'm happy to explain my reasons if you want to hear them.)--Tyranny Sue (talk) 04:07, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article English underground has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Original research.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
