Please have look at my talk page User talk:Ericd for what I know about the Cosworth DFV and BDA.

Approach Slope

[edit]
copied from User talk:Lommer

Totally puzzled by your revert on my correction to your original article.

The slope has got to ABOVE the horizontal, if it were below the horizontal the height of an object moving along the slope would increase as you travelled along the approach. (unsigned edit by: M100)

Ah, Now I think I see the source of the confusion. I mean 3 degrees below the horizontal from the point of view of the airplane. I.e. if you're flying the plane perfeclty level, you would angle your path down 3 degrees in order to fly the approach slope. Does that clarify what I mean? Should I change the article too? -Lommer | talk 21:18, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. you can sign your edits on talk pages by typing ~~~ or ~~~~. This will create a link back to your user page so people can find you more easily, and also helps identify who's saying what. -Lommer | talk 21:18, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for sorting the link out. I should have checked it better. --rxnd ( t | | c ) 22:24, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for making me laugh with your response to David877 on the Hammond Talk Page. I totally agree with your comments about speed. -- Scjessey 18:12, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Desist from personal attacks

[edit]

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. --Mais oui! 20:41, 27 April 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. --Mais oui! 20:44, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting articles to standard format agreed at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Formula_One Isn't vandalism in any shape or form. It is impossible to hold the nationality "scottish" It is not recognised by the UK government, the EU, the UN, the MSA or the FIA. M100 20:48, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

:Desist immediately from your usage of foul edit summary: "Revert blatant vandalism". Abusing edit summaries to conduct personal attacks is especially frowned upon by the community. --Mais oui! 20:54, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Take it to Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Formula_One and discuss your "issues" M100 20:56, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No stop it! I agree that Mais oui! was wrong to change the F1 infoboxes (i.e. ignoring consensus). But you were 100% wrong to call his edits vandalism. I reverted his changes too - and pointed out the consensus issue, I did not call it vandalism. Mark83 20:57, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

:WP:NPA and WP:RPA are universal. They are not within the jurisdiction of any one WikiProject. Stop your foul behaviour now. --Mais oui! 20:59, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Forget it and we'll have every driver infobox hacked beyond recognition. Mais Oui's "contributions" are vandalism plain and simple. Anyway he just broke 3RR. Personally I couldn't give a stuff where this ends up but either Wikipedia strives for accuracy and consensus or it gets ruined by editors such as Mai Oui on an ego trip. M100 21:05, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, he's broken it multiple times, as far as I can see. If I can make a suggestion, let it be for now. There doesn't seem to be any support for his view in discussion as yet. Don't fall foul of 3RR yourself, it ain't worth it! 4u1e 21:12, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Take 4u1e's advice but please take mine too. You seem to be going out for a fight, that is totally unacceptable. Your "vandalism" edit summaries only heighten an already tense situtation. There is no justification for that. I'm unstriking my comments on principle by the way. Cheers. Mark83 21:18, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doncaster

[edit]

You may want to go back to your recent edit to Doncaster and look again. Midland Mainline DOES serve Doncaster - see their website (http://www.midlandmainline.com/) and particularly route map. Emeraude 13:29, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I agree with the above. I've updated the rail link section and reincluded MML.

Hi M100 - thanks for the note; the main problem here is that the plaque can't really be taken as a 'reliable source'; see the references cited at Taxus baccata, which have shown that old yews are nowhere nearly as old as they are often claimed to be. Even the much larger Fortingall Yew (the oldest yew of all) is now reckoned to be a maximum of 2,000, compared to previous claims of up to 5,000 or more. - MPF 20:41, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am sure that you are familiar with Wikipedia's external link policy. Lotus Elise had far too many external links on it. Zach4636 19:31, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Monaco Grand Prix Drivers

[edit]

M100, thanks for your message. My rationale was that: 'As far a I know, the three most notable single-seater races are: Monaco Grand Prix (F1), 24 Hours of Le Mans (ALMS) and Indy 500 (IRL). Why not having a category for every aforementioned race?' Mxcatania (talk) 16:46, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message. Hopefully have fixed the source coordinates (missing letters that define hemisphere). Tim P (talk) 07:37, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My "Pointless Edit"

[edit]

Asking for a citation is not pointless, whether or not the information is factual. In general the Lotus Elise article needs to reference its sources much better. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. swaq 03:23, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Doncaster

[edit]

In reference to the tolls demanded by the Levetts on the bridges in Doncaster, I'm not quite sure what your question is. There is ample documentary proof that Richard Levett was an alderman and later mayor of Doncaster on the dates given. (See this record from Doncaster's own municipal records.([1]) Or this one.([2]) There is also ample documentary proof that the Levetts had been collecting tolls on the bridges. As for the city reference, I was using 'city' as a figure of speech, not an officially designated place (a way to avoid saying town again). As far as Parliament ordering Christopher Levett to appear with the patent on the tolls, sources from The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, an eminent publication published in Boston, were given.([3]) So where exactly is the problem? I would be happy to provide more sources. Regards,MarmadukePercy (talk) 15:43, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
