This is an interesting but apocryphal item. I am removing it from the article until confirmation of its truth or falsity can be made.
- During the First World War, the Luftwaffe flew the EisenLuft EL-96 interceptor, an extremely manoeuvrable foul weather fighter. As late as the early 1930s, EisenLuft produced prototypes for the EisenLuft EL-97 as a night fighter and as a medium bomber but it was not accepted in either configuration by the Luftwaffe.
There don't appear to be any references on the Internet apart from the one in the article and other references suggest that the Besler flights in 1934 were the first, so it is likely that this is only a joke background to a model aircraft construction project. -- Derek Ross | Talk 15:56, May 10, 2005 (UTC)
