24th or 25th President?
[edit]The government of Liberia says Weah is the country's 24th President. I made that edit in october, but I see it's been reverted. Can anyone help me understand why? Alexios88 (talk) 24 Nov 2021 — Preceding undated comment added 02:45, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
Leeds
[edit]He played for Leeds, not mentioned in the article.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Vega007 (talk • contribs) 17:39, 20 March 2005
- He did not: http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=8361 --Dryazan 15:15, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Yes he did, he was on loan to Leeds in the mid nineties. I was a season ticket holder at Elland Road.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Vega007 (talk • contribs) 02:56, 21 March 2005
- I can find no evidence of this. Weah spent the late 90s (1995-99) with Milan, and he transferred there from PSG (1992-95). If you have any evidence of him playing for Leeds, post a link here. Maybe you are mixing him up with Tony Yeboah? --Dryazan 19:09, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)

"Politics" section
[edit]Anyone else find this sentence unintentionally comical:
"Weah has also promised to bring low cost housing to the countryside, where people often live in houses."—Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.37.137.129 (talk) 06:01, 10 November 2005
Football
[edit]Hey, I do not know how to do it, so I can't, but could somebody put a picture of him playing for Milan, like this http://www.as.com/misc/fifaworld04/fotografia/weah.jpg I think he deserves it you know as one of the world's best players ever. I was shocked to see him in a formal suit in the wikipedia article. I know he's almost the president right now, but he was a football icon, come on!—Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.245.206.91 (talk) 13:39, 10 November 2005
Conversion
[edit]Is there any sources to state that he actually converted to Christianity from Islam, I mean both his parents had Christian names and he was given his at birth, it doesn't make much sense.—Preceding unsigned comment added by M2k41 (talk • contribs) 04:13, 30 January 2006
I've checked up on this, apparantely he was born Christian, converted to Islam, and then converted back when his grandmother died.—Preceding unsigned comment added by M2k41 (talk • contribs) 04:17, 30 January 2006
Ali Dia
[edit]His connection to Ali Dia has been ignored but maybe it should be mentioned?—Preceding unsigned comment added by VarunRajendran (talk • contribs) 21:10, 13 March 2006
Dubious Information
[edit]Caps and goal figures in the article likely contain European cup/Domestic cup data in addition to Domestic League data (this is very certain based on this user's previous edits containing similar information [1]. Please correct this issue and leave a note here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Alfmaster#Footballers.27_European_goals, to warn this person about putting improper information on Wikipedia. --Palffy 21:17, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Typo fix; change sentence in lead to:

Please do not name Christopher Wreh as a cousin of Weah unless a reliable source can be found. This was unsourced in the article and when I search "Christopher Wreh cousin" these are the top results:
- Wikipedia
- Transfermarkt: A user-created football statistics website not regarded as a reliable source
- When Saturday Comes: Football magazine says Wreh "was even supposed to be a cousin" of Weah
- The Hot Stepanovs: Arsenal fan blog
- Football Fancast: Name says it all
- Wikipedia mirror
- Woolwich Arsenal: Arsenal fan blog
- Sporting Heroes: A nice website but not a definitive source on such a claim
Due to the famous case of Ali Dia, sources must be reliable for anybody claiming to be a cousin of George Weah. Harambe Walks (talk) 16:47, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

Overtly pro-Weah
[edit]This article is pretty obviously biased towards Weah and needs serious revision. Looking under his presidency section is nothing but thinly veiled praise 166.182.81.4 (talk) 03:01, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
