Why
[edit]why don't you like my info on cover version on the Home (Dixie Chicks album) as you say that people don't like them i know loads of people who are like to know if a song is a cover version but don't care who play the harp or drum on album but you put them in there but take out my cover version edit when it doing no harm to you. - People can already see by the songwriting credits, which songs the Dixie Chicks wrote themselves and which they didn't, and who wrote the latter. So what extra information is your section telling anyone? Only "Landslide" was a well-known song by the original artist. "Travellin' Soldier", "Long Time Gone", "Goodspeed" ... none of these were even moderate hits by the original writers (and as for "More Love", I couldn't find any sign that Darrell Scott had ever recorded it). It's common in country music for songwriters to record albums of their songs that don't sell much, but that do advertise the songs to more popular artists. Indeed one of the points of Home was that the Chicks recruited and used non-commercial-sounding songs from writers. For these reasons, these aren't "cover versions" in the normal sense at all, then. yes but i spend hours finding out this info because it a very good info to have the said song's and you delete all info about the song's. these song's have been recorded by the artist i said in the info or i would not of put them on even some had be write by someone else and record by another artist but these are the first artist to record them even if it just a B-Side or Album Track. Tell what about putting the info next to the song on the track listing which would work better. Nez202 20:14, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
