Block Party

[edit]

Seems that the block party should have its own page, as its a fairly substantial music festival with an identity distinct from the church itself. Minnesotasteve 11:42 16 Feb 2018 (UTC)

The Oldest Basilica in North America is Basilica of Notre-Dame in Québec City, It was designated a Basilica in 1874, by Pope Pius IX and as such is the first church in North America to be designated a basilica. Saint Mary in Minnesota was not built until 1907-1915 and was not elevated to Basilica until 1926 by Pope Pius XI. Bmpower | Talk 10:50, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)

The first Cathedral, the * Basilica of Baltimore in the United States of America was built 1806-1821 was later designated a minor basilica in 1937. Beaux-Arts architecture

[edit]

A source should be added to establish whether the basilica is an example (or even "one of the finest examples") of Beaux-Arts architecture. Apparently the NRHP documentation called it an example of Classical Revival architecture. I didn't try to find a source for either claim, so the conflicting statements remain. 72.244.204.237 (talk) 20:10, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
